Laura & Milledge|| Low Country Wedding || Augusta, GA
We never dreamed that when we met Laura in high school that we would get to travel all the way to Georgia to photograph her wedding! But there we were, exploring Augusta, finding cute little wedding day trinkets in local antique shops, and being a part of out first official low country boil. There were so many amazing moments during this wedding weekend, it is hard to narrow it down to just a few!
A few of our favorite things:
1. The food! It all started at the rehearsal dinner when we were invited to partake in our first low country broil (sausage, potatoes, corn, and shrimp) on Miledge’s family farm. The atmosphere was perfect, we met some chickens, and roasted some marshmallows over and open fire- of course we made s’mores. Next up, there was food throughout the day on the wedding day. Laura ordered Panera Bread and had it catered to for pre-Ceremony food. This was a fantastic idea as we were with them for four and a half hours before the ceremony and we know their party was with them even earlier. Finally, the reception meal had something for everyone. There was a mashed potato bar, a shrimp and grits bar, fresh fruit, and a million different entrees ranging from ham and cheese biscuits to a carved meat station.
2. They infused their personality in to the day. Some of our favorites: the groom and groomsmen wore Star Wars socks, the ceremony recessional was Star Wars music played by the organist who learned the music just for their big day, the bride’s Kate Spade Keds that were worn all day- no heels here, and the custom LEGO cake toper.
3. The flowers. The flowers for the day were beautiful blue and white hydrangeas. The Bride’s bouquet was so full and there was even a small bouquet for the flower girl.
4. The Reception Venue. Tall windows. White walls. Sign us up for venues like this all day long. This place was perfectly lit for all the major events!
5. The overall silliness of the Bride and Groom. These two know how to make each other laugh, which made our jobs super easy. Real smiles are always the best smiles, and they were in no short supply on this day!
