Matt & Kiara || Downtown Charleston Engagement || West Virginia Wedding Photographer
It’s Wedding Wednesday and we are so excited, for our upcoming double header weekend (2 weddings in two days)! Up first is Matt and Kiara’s Craik-Patton House wedding (engagement session below) followed by Danielle and JT’s Disney themed wedding (engagement session blogged on June 9th, go check it out). Can you see why we are so excited!?!?! Now, on to the main reason we have you popping by today. Matt and Kiara’s engagement session!
Back story:
We were first contacted by Matt and Kiara after they decided on having their wedding at the Craik-Patton House in Charleston, West Virginia. Paul, the Director at the Craik-Patton House, recommended that they contact us and we are so glad they did. This historical mansion is near and dear to us, because it was one of our first dates (historical tour of Charleston), it’s where we got married, and it’s where we hold some of our photo sessions. Not to mention that Kiara’s bubbly personality and Matt’s attention to detail make this couple so ideal for us to work with.
Our first consultation was via Skype. Kiara tuning in from Ohio, Matt tuning in from North Carolina, and us in Charleston, WV. We discovered that the couple had chosen Charleston, West Virginia as their wedding place when looking for a venue that would split the travel distance for their families. We instantly loved this concept and were so excited when they chose to go with us as their photographers.
Flash Forward:
Matt and Kiara traveled in from North Carolina (Kiara has now relocated to call NC home) for their Sunday sunrise engagement session. The summer morning was full of fog, but we didn’t let that stop us. We changed up our plan, grabbed a couple of shots on Capitol street while the street lamps were still on, headed to the downtown river front where we knew the fog was sitting lower, and ended back up on Capitol Street once the fog had cleared. This lovely couple twirled, snuggled, and laughed their way into photo perfection.
We can’t wait until Saturday to spend the day with Matt and Kiara capturing all of their details, the moments between loved ones, and telling their story.
Happy wedding week Matt and Kiara!
XOXO,
Christie and Summer
