Hailey & Dustin || Logan Country Club|| West Virginia Wedding Photographer

Sometimes it just feels like fate when it comes to wedding photography, and that is how it was with Hailey & Dustin. The original plan was for us to be at their event as second shooters for another photographer friend, but due to her pregnancy she found out a few weeks before the wedding that she was unable to attend (she actually ended up having her baby boy the morning of their wedding!). When stepping in to a situation like this, especially when it comes to a wedding, stress can be at an all time high, but when we sat down with Hailey for her consultation, she was so relaxed and generally just grateful that someone was there to step in for her. By the end of our meeting it felt like we had been friends for years as we bonded over our love for Kate Spade and all things shiny.

Flash forward to the week of Hailey and Dustin's big day where we had been keeping an eye on the weather as the forecast projected there would be rain. Even though it had originally called for rain, there was barely a cloud in the sky. Hailey and Dustin were able to get married outside and enjoy their portraits without taking cover from the rain. We were all thrilled about this because we were able to utilize some beautiful outdoor scenery for their couples portartits.

So many moments made Hailey and Dustin's day unique and memorable. But for us, the most notable thing was how family oriented their day was, starting with the parents getting ready with the bride and groom and moving into the gift exchange. Hailey gifted Dustin cuff links with portraits off his late grandfather. A groom's gift we can truly get behind. :) In exchange, Dustin's family presented Hailey with a beautiful monogrammed compact. Who doesn't need all the mirrors on they day they are getting married?! To continue the family oriented day, Hailey was walked down the isle by both her father and step- father. Her two dads even shared together in the father- daughter dance. There was a family sand ceremony before the exchanging of vowels. And to top it all off, the toast the couple received were both emotional and jovial. Summer and I looked at each other with such admiration when Dustin's brother, the Best Man, called Dustin his hero--we saw some tears in the crowd. And we laughed when Hailey's sister, the Maid of Honor, told Dustin to hold Hailey's had and then raise them. She then told Dustin that was the last time he would have the upper hand. The whole room erupted in laughter. And these are just a few of the moments we witnessed.

With all of the love and support of their families, we are sure this middle school sweatheart couple will have a love story that lasts a lifetime. Hailey and Dustin--Thank you for letting us be a part of that story!

Xoxo,
