Victoria and David || Athena Farm and Vineyard Wedding

A little over a year ago, we were asked to coordinate and photograph a wedding. This was a unique venture for us, as we usually either coordinate the event together or photograph the event together. For this wedding, we split up with Christie behind the scenes coordinating and Summer behind the camera. Not only were we super excited for this event, but we were excited to work with Victoria and David. They are just one of those couples that you love to be around.

Just like in the movies, these two found love after years of friendship. So with every detail, their excitement and love shined through; the dress, the place settings, the fairytale venue where there were lantern and light draped trees, it all spoke to them as a couple.

Since we were not only shooting this one, our time line for this event was a little different than normal. Arriving at the beautiful Athena Farm & Vineyards the night before to scope out the sights and to do more of the coordinating side of things, we were blown away by the place we were going to get to work over the next two days. Kicking it in to high gear and pulling out all of the couples place settings and décor, we jumped right in to mocking up the tablescapes for the next day. The navy and gold details, with subtle pops of pink and green (Succulents to DIE for) meshed beautifully with the rustic feel of the wooden tables being used and all of the greenery from the vineyard surrounding it.

Flash forward to the day of the wedding and the emotions surrounding the day were just as beautiful as the landscape and décor. The guys relaxed and goofed off, even taking some time at the shooting range. The girls took time to primp and prepare while sipping on some mimosas. One of our favorite moments from the day occurred while Victoria was getting ready. Every wedding has a memorable emotional moment, but never have we been moved as much as we were on this day. Victoria was presented by her mother with a locket containing a picture of her late father to place on her bouquet, so that her father was with her to walk her down the aisle. With tear filled eyes, she read a letter that her father had written to her.

While there were a few emotional moments, this couple also knows have to have fun. From their vowels where David promised to put a baby in her belly and Victoria gracefully slipping in the word “erection” (the groomsmen and bridesmaids got to pick a word that the bride and groom had to use during their vowels) to the fun dance moves the couple busted out on the dance floor, this wedding was full of moments that we fill so blessed to have been a part of. We wish Victoria and David all the love and happiness in the world. May you two be just as perfect for each other as you were on your wedding day!
